At Align Podiatry, we’re dedicated to providing thorough, compassionate care for every patient who walks through our doors. Whether you're dealing with chronic foot pain, a sports injury (please see MSK Assessment); diabetic foot concerns or general foot maintenance such as nail and skin care, our experienced podiatry team is here to help.
What to Expect as a New Patient:
We take the time to understand your health history, lifestyle, and current concerns to tailor a treatment plan that works for you. Your first visit typically includes:
Advanced Diagnostics with Doppler Ultrasound
Circulatory health plays a critical role in foot care—especially for patients with diabetes, vascular conditions, or unexplained pain. We use non-invasive Doppler ultrasound to evaluate blood flow in real time, helping us identify concerns like peripheral arterial disease (PAD) early and accurately.
The foot is a dynamic system, as such, it is important to assess the foot dynamically. At Align Podiatry, we utilise state of the art pressure plate technology.
Pressure plate technology allows us to assess in far more depth than conventional gait analysis. The plate records 100 images per second of the pressures under your feet as you move. This provides information that the naked eye could only dream of obtaining.
During this portion of your assessment, you will be asked to stand on the pressure plate and walk across it; providing your podiatrist with static and dynamic information.

Your podiatrist will assess you thoroughly from your lower back, to your feet. This will allow us to build a detailed picture around your bodies capabilities.
A routine podiatry appointment is designed to keep your feet healthy, comfortable, and pain-free.
During your visit, your podiatrist will assess your foot health and provide treatment for common concerns such as hard skin, corns, calluses, thickened or problematic nails, and cracked heels.
Appointments also include advice on how to care for your feet at home, helping to prevent future issues and maintain mobility.
For patients with underlying conditions such as diabetes or circulatory problems, routine care plays a very important role in monitoring and protecting long-term foot and limb health.
Whether you are experiencing discomfort, have difficulty managing your nails, or simply want to maintain healthy feet, routine podiatry care offers safe, professional support tailored to your needs.
If you suffer from recurring ingrown toenails, thickened or painful nails, or nail conditions that don’t respond to routine care, nail surgery may be a treatment option for you.
Nail surgery is a minor procedure carried out under local anaesthetic to permanently resolve persistent nail problems. It is quick, safe, and highly effective—allowing patients to return to normal activities with minimal downtime.
At your appointment, your podiatrist will first assess your nail condition and discuss all available treatment options. Surgery will only ever be recommended when it is clinically appropriate and when more conservative approaches are unlikely to succeed. If nail surgery is suitable, your podiatrist can provide a referral and explain the process step-by-step, so you can make an informed decision with confidence.
Our goal is to relieve discomfort, prevent recurring infections, and help you get back to living pain-free.
A PNA a minor surgical procedure where only the problematic section of the toenail (usually the edge that is ingrown or causing pain) is carefully removed. A TNA is an alternative procedure where the whole toenail is removed under local anaesthetic. This is usually recommended when the entire nail is damaged, severely ingrown, or causing ongoing problems. The nail bed is then treated with asolution to help prevent that portion of the nail from growing back.
It is performed under local anaesthetic, meaning the toe is completely numb during the procedure. A small dressing is applied afterwards, and healing usually takes a few weeks with regular podiatry follow-up.
This procedure is highly effective in stopping recurring ingrown toenails and relieving pain long-term.
