I’m a HCPC registered Podiatrist and member of the Royal College of Podiatry. My
career started in the NHS, and I also have experience in private practice. I was lucky
enough to spend four years as a Research Allied Health Professional, working on
clinical trials in areas such as Diabetes, Vascular, Rheumatology and Oncology
which gave me broad education. During the COVID pandemic I was re-deployed to
the mass vaccination team which was a challenging but rewarding opportunity to
work within a fantastic muti-disciplinary team.
In 2022, I made the move to Huntleigh Healthcare, a leading provider of medical
equipment for vascular diagnostics, where I get to combine my podiatry background
with product management and education. I help deliver lower limb vascular
masterclasses and create training resources for clinicians. We focus on tests like
Ankle Brachial Pressure Index (ABPI) and Toe Brachial Pressure Index (TBPI)
simple but powerful tools for assessing blood flow in the lower limb and spotting
Peripheral Arterial Disease. It’s something I’m really passionate about, especially
because early detection can make a huge difference to patient outcomes.
On a personal note, I grew up in Kent but now live by the sea in beautiful South
Wales, and I have a daughter who is studying in Liverpool.
I live with a long-term health condition- an autoimmune myopathy, which affects my
mobility and has shaped my approach to health. It doesn’t stop me doing anything,
but it has taught me the importance of nutrition, sleep, and well-being in managing
my day to day. I’m also proud to contribute to the Royal College of Podiatry’s
Disabled Workers Task and Finish Group and Health Care Research Wales’
Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion group.
Outside of work, I love to travel (a big perk of my job!) and when I’m home, you’ll
often find me curled up with a good book or TV series alongside my lively but
sometimes grumpy Jack Russell!
